8’9″x12’7″ Extremely Fine Wool and Silk Paradise Isfahan

This piece exemplifies masterful Persian rug weaving at its best. The crisp clarity of each flower, each vine, and all of the wildlife images simply cannot be woven by a novice. Very detailed center medallion surrounded by a garden of floral and vine motifs where each piece of silk pops against the high-quality lamb wool pile. Pure silk foundation adds the ability to weave such fine knots in such a fine masterpiece. Earthy cool colors, white ivory, dusty beige, royal blue, sky blue, midnight blue, stone grey, cool plum, and mauve. Condition; this is in wonderful vintage condition; there is some color run in some of the flowers, vines, and border of the rug – it is subtle but there.  It has been professionally cleaned and sold in as-is condition.
